Region 1

Melissa Dickinson is the Program Director for Region 1. She brings decades of experience in healthcare management, strategic planning and operational excellence. During her career in healthcare leadership, Melissa led numerous aspects of healthcare services including clinical services, revenue cycle services, information services, and business administrative services. She has a strong track record of successfully leading teams through a diverse range of healthcare projects and programs, managing timely, complete and accurate project deliverables while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. Melissa’s strategic vision and commitment to excellence make her an invaluable asset, ensuring successful management of our CMS Medicare contract and fostering value-added relationships with stakeholders.

Dr. Mullen-Clayton serves as Contractor Medical Director for Region 1. She brings an extensive array of healthcare experience as an academician, physician and corporate leader. Prior to joining Performant, Dr. Mullen-Clayton was the Northeast Regional Medical Director at United HealthCare focused on NJ managed Medicaid acute inpatient, skilled nursing facility, long term acute care hospital and acute inpatient rehabilitation services. In this role, and in her previous role as Chief Medical Officer of Premier Healthcare Exchange (PHX), Dr. Mullen-Clayton supported value based healthcare through medical necessity and policy review, peer interaction, and stakeholder educational presentations. Dr. Mullen-Clayton has nearly 20 years of clinical practice experience as an Emergency Medicine Physician and Medical Director.
